Bio

Sarah is a senior Design and Visual Communication major at UWM and will be graduating in Spring 2021 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She grew up in Wisconsin and took many boating and camping trips with her family. From an early age, she enjoyed being outside and loved expressing herself through art classes. Sarah discovered the field of Graphic Design in high school and saw it as a way to use her creativity in a career field. Her strength and ability in drawing helps her to brainstorm ideas and design solutions quickly, so she has at least one sketchbook on her at all times. She is interested in more illustrative design, and after graduation, she plans to freelance or work for a design firm where she could create logos, icons, posters, t-shirt graphics, etc. Whenever she travels, Sarah enjoys seeing merchandise with graphics that remind people of that place, and would love to make postcards and stickers for a city or state park gift shop one day. When she’s not working on school, she loves to draw in her sketchbook, go hiking, paint, play video games and crochet.

Description

Bridgewing is a Milwaukee-based residential development that provides affordable housing in the city and in surrounding suburbs. By working with the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee and local developers, Bridgewing renovates existing apartment buildings to be more energy efficient and sustainable, providing affordable units with lower rents and energy bills. In suburbs, we construct multi-family homes such as duplexes, triplexes, and quadruplexes to provide affordable housing for families that are close to urban centers and equitable jobs.

Mission

To reduce the cost of rent by providing safe, eco-friendly, and affordable housing to families and individuals throughout the city.

Vision

We strive to create a compassionate system of communal care by providing affordable living and close access to equitable jobs for all.
