Showcase 2014

Showcase 2014

The UWM Design Entrepreneur Showcase is in its third year with 31 students presenting creative and thoughtful products and services. Each year both Amy Decker and I are intrigued to see what kinds of issues our students are passionate about and for which they are driven to make a difference. Upon our students’ request, we added “Education” to our ongoing research themes of Water, Energy and Ecology.

Within these broad themes, students are exploring the topics of health and nutrition, financial planning, preparation for college, energy efficiency, support for victims of sexual assault, a politically informed, engaged and involved Wisconsin populace, bipolar disorder, learning through play, inspiring our youth to read, sustainable systems for composting to gardening, phone usage, and repurposing abandoned buildings.
