Bio

My name is Sanne Overgaard and I am currently completing my BFA in the Design and Visual Communications program at UWM. I am eager to receive my BFA and utilize the expertise I have gained in design as well as use the skills I have acquired from other classes outside the DVC program.

I attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout for my first two years of undergrad before deciding to transfer to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The main reason for the transition was to relocate to a bigger city where I could immerse myself in more culture and diversity as well as for the social and networking opportunities. Having spent half of my life growing up in Europe, I have had to make other major transitions from moving, to learning new languages, to emerging myself in completely new cultures. Because of this, I find that one of my greatest strengths is adaptability. With this, I draw a lot of inspiration from the people and environments around me, which is why I’m thankful for the travel opportunities I have had thus far in life.

Throughout my design career I have been fortunate enough to dabble in many different areas of design as well as learn many different programs. I have a lot of experience in digital painting, vector graphics, user interface design, and typography, but also use my knowledge of photography, painting, print making, and business to my advantage. Having gone through many different types of art and design classes, I know and value the importance of organization, time management, and communication.

I have always been a people person. I am not only drawn to them, but inspired by them which is why my goal in life is to help people and the world around me through design and collaboration. I can accomplish this by continuing to be a hard worker and being detail oriented, but never losing sight of the big picture.

Design savvy bartender who studies nutrition, culinary arts, and recipes for fun. He has a good eye for design and thinks outside the box.

Sam Potratz
Is interested in incorporating vitamins into his life, but hates the traditional methods of taking them in pill form. He is excellent at writing and editing.
