Bio

Adrian is a lighthearted conversationalist who finds meaning in literary devices, physical art & media, and musical community. Design is a very accessible institution through these traits, and he is more than happy to use what he sees, hears, and encounters through people to inform his work.

He appreciates the value of explanation (and from that: writing), so one of his foremost goals is to do the same in his visual creations. Addressing various environmental issues has become an interest for him, so identifying smaller scale issues of that nature via communication and explanation is alluring to him.

Ernie Wunch:
Owner and operator of Skyline Catering
Being the owner and driving force of Skyline Catering for 20 years, Ernie is a practiced professional in all things that make a food business run smoothly, efficiently, profitably, and to the customer’s satisfaction. He’s an expert as concepts such as portion sizes and food freshness.

Debra DeBoer:
Director of South Milwaukee Human Concerns
As Director of SMHC, Debra has streamlined operations to be as active and productive as possible in the South Milwaukee community. She handles most of the day to day operations of organizing and collecting food and monetary donations from various sources, and distributing them directly to those in need.

Eric Petsch:
Design and Food Industry Consultant
A Design Senior at UWM, Eric Petsch is well versed in all the problem solving skills that are demanded of a graphic designer. His technical skill and design thinking, coupled with his experience as a food service professional provide him with unique insight into finding solutions for food waste problems.

Description

Causeway is an app-based food delivery service. We redistribute edible meals that would otherwise be thrown out by businesses, events, and restaurant kitchens due to inconvenience and deliver them to a variety of local food pantries. The system is designed to act quickly and efficiently for the businesses in order to preserve the integrity of their food and ultimately to service those who face low food security.

Mission

Our mission is to bolster the fight against hunger by rescuing excess food in the service industry from being wasted.

Vision

Our vision is to achieve a conscious society where everyone is fed and little is wasted.
