Bio

Lindsey was born in southern Wisconsin but spent much of her childhood between San Diego and her family’s home in Madison. This created a broad exposure to multiple cultural experiences and helped inspire a basis of inspiration in her work.

Lindsey’s formal training in Architecture, drawing, professional writing, and design have culminated in a second degree in Design and Visual Communication from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. This education and experience has helped her design conscientiously with the environment, renewability, and the human experience in mind, regardless of the scope of the project.

After graduation, Lindsey intends to return to San Diego to work with a group of creatives that focuses on development of new platforms and products that encourages equality and stewardship for all people regardless of their identity.

Description

Civy is an app designed by a veteran for veterans. The app offers one-click connections to hundreds of resources that are organized by need and ranked by users. Additionally, the app offers a chat service, a message board service, and a memorial board as other means of connecting within the veteran community. Civy is designed to make the transition from the military to civilian life easier and also connect veterans to each other for life in an unique digital community. Within the app, female veterans will also have a women-only area, which addresses the unique needs of the female veteran community.

Mission

Civy seeks to make a positive mental impact and increase the connectedness of military members
after they transition to civilian life by creating an online community that connects veterans to support
resources and to each other.

Vision
