Bio

Living and creating in Milwaukee, Kat Hernandez has collaborated with non-profits and small businesses for over 5 years in graphic design. Identity and storytelling are two of her main focuses, as she works to marry professional practices with her childhood love of narrative and character development. Kat considers her positive attitude and creativity to be professional strengths while working and building upon her technical and organizational skill as she gains industry knowledge. She specializes in illustration, branding, and motion graphics.

Kat has interned as a designer throughout her college career; gaining inside experience in the areas of law, government, business, religion, and film. In her spare time, she has served in leadership as the graphic designer and officer for AIGA WI’s UWM board. She has also involved herself in various art and design events such as Design Mil, Islands of Brilliance Mentorship Program, and several local art builds. Living mindfully is an important part of her life as she works to improve herself, and implore others to think empathetically in their own lives.

Andar is a company focused on changing our consumer habits through a variety of means. Through offering mobile and web services, educational services are offered to those looking to learn more about the current environmental situation. The app portion allows users to track their habits, join local communities, share resources, learn, and grow on their journey. The sustainable starter kit allows customers to start making changes at home at any time; the informational material within is a perfect one-stop-shop for beginners, while it also serves a good cause by donating a portion of the proceeds to providing a kit for families in need.

Andar is revolutionizing the way we see sustainable living. Through mobile, web, and product services, Andar has a solution for every home. We can all make a difference, in many ways; Andar provides the tools and wisdom for we as consumers to journey forward towards a more sustainable future.

Vision

Andar hopes to make sustainable living easier for people in urban communities. By providing the tools necessary for change, Andar will make for cleaner and healthier communities through correcting wasteful consumer habits, reducing waste, and encouraging a healthier lifestyle.
