Freshwater Collaborative Water Policy Network Meeting: Case Study and Methods Presentation – Past Lakes and Past Lives: Underwater Archaeology in the Great Lakes

Ashley Lemke, Associate Professor at UW-Milwaukee, presented her research on 9,000-year-old sites in Lake Huron. Methods include marine geophysical survey, archaeological excavation, and remotely operated and autonomous underwater vehicles. The presentation discussed underwater archaeological sites and artifacts that have been documented on the Alpena-Amberley Ridge, a landform that was exposed during lower water levels.
