The Center for Water Policy has operated since 2011 after Lynde B. Uihlein endowed the Center with a charitable gift of $2.6 million. Today, we are thrilled to announce an additional generous gift of $4 million from Lynde B. Uihlein to the Center’s Endowment, part of her historic $10 million gift to the School of Freshwater Sciences.

This incredible contribution to our endowment ensures water policy research oriented towards solutions to the world’s most pressing freshwater issues for generations to come.

Center for Water Policy Director, Lynde B. Uihlein Endowed Chair, and Professor Melissa Scanlan was featured on a panel celebrating the gift, where the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel quoted her putting the importance of endowment funding in perspective against the backdrop of the loss of federal funding for scientific research. Endowments like these help us continue our freshwater mission for generations to come.
