Center for Water Policy Director, Professor & Lynde B. Uihlein Endowed Chair Melissa Scanlan was featured in a LancasterOnline article discussing data centers’ water use. She noted that the industry’s rapid growth and reliance on confidentiality agreements often make it difficult for communities to evaluate the true impact of facilities before they are approved.
“The communities don’t really know what they’re getting until the facilities are built, and everything is in motion and hard to stop at that point,” she said.
