Biomedical Sciences at UWM encompasses a broad range of professions dedicated to the detection, diagnosis and treatments of disease across all systems and parts of the human body.  UWM offers two broad areas of studies – Laboratory based programs and diagnostic imaging-based programs.

Laboratory-based programs work with bodily fluids, tissues and sells in the detection, diagnosis and treatments of disease.

Diagnostic Imaging

Radiologic Technologists use diagnostic imaging procedures such as x-rays exams, MRI scans, CT scans, interventional radiography, cadiac catheterization, mommography and bone density tests.

Sonographers use sound waves to generate an image used to access and diagnose various medical conditions.  While many people associate sonography with obstetrics, this technology has many applications in diagnosing medical conditions in the abdomen, breast, heart and vascular system.
