Essential Description (Caption):

This photo shows tactile, colored dots that have been placed on the burner knobs of an oven. Bright, yellow dots mark the knob that corresponds with each burner on the stove. Red dots are located at the top of the four burner knobs highlighting the “off” positions of the burners. The red dots also allow the viewer to gauge how high or low the oven settings are placed relative to the “off” position. There are also red dots on the right side of the photo which cover three important stove controls, allowing the user to quickly and easily locate needed switches. The purpose of these dots are to enable the user to more easily view the stove and oven settings. The purpose of this photo is to represent examples of home modifications for the Senior Home Assessment and Repair Project.

Photograph of a black and white gas stove as part of a stove/oven combination. The photgraph is zoomed in on the back burners and control panel for the stovetop and oven. On the bottom of the image is the white portion of the stove with two burners pictured. The burner on the right has nothing on it and the burner on the left has a kitchen item on it. Behind the burneres is the black control panel. There are four black knobs in the center of the control panel. On each knob is a red dot with another red dot located directly above it on the control panel. The two knobs on the left have a bright yellow dot slightly above and to the left of them, and the two knobs on the right have a bright yellow dot slightly avove and to the right of them on the black control panel. The wall behind the stove is tiled in medium sized, white, square tiles.
