Invest in Your Future
Transfer students arrive at UW-Milwaukee energized and ready to pursue their goals. Some have finished their associate degree and want to take the next step in their college journey. Others come from other bachelor’s degree programs, seeking a college experience that better suits their needs and ambitions.
No matter what you’re looking for, you’ll find it at UWM. Maybe it’s getting a scholarship and tackling an accelerated master’s program — earning a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in five years. Or perhaps it’s working on a meaningful research project and the professor who leads it becoming a career-long mentor. Or being connected to an internship at a Fortune 500 company thanks to an on-campus career fair.
Scholarships specifically for transfer students. Professors who know your name. Hands-on learning and internship opportunities in your field. Start building a future that fits you at UWM.

Education That Ripples Outward
Inspired in the classroom, our students go deeper with hands-on learning that positively impacts the world around them.
Top-Tier Research
UWM is one of only two Wisconsin universities to earn a top research university ranking from the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. For our students, this means doing meaningful research side by side with faculty and contributing to their field before they graduate.
Life-Changing Study Abroad
With more than 20 countries to choose from and study abroad programs that range from a few weeks to an entire year, students can explore the world in a way that suits them best. UWM also offers study abroad that fits specific majors. For example, architecture students travel to Paris to study its iconic cityscape firsthand, and business students travel to South Korea to learn about the country’s economic growth.
Real-World Learning
UWM pairs top-notch academics with unique hands-on learning programs. These include nonprof-IT, which matches students with local nonprofits to improve their websites, and the Startup Challenge, where student teams create new businesses. UWM also regularly hosts career and internship fairs on campus, making it easy for students to find professional opportunities in their field.
