All UWM faculty and staff may apply for access to the shared dashboards in the OBIEE tool. This OBIEE “consumer” access is also required for accessing a number of SharePoint reports created by the Office of Assessment and Institutional Research (OAIR). Supervisors may request student employee access to OBIEE by following the steps notated here.

Note: Before applying for access to shared dashboards, UWM faculty and staff must complete or have already completed online Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) training.  The online FERPA tutorial and quiz require approximately 15 to 25 minutes to complete.

Apply for OBIEE consumer access with the following four steps:

  1. Access the DAR form

Access the UWM Data Authorization Request (DAR) form at http://www.uwm.edu/dar

  2. Choose the OBIEE Student Records Consumer role

Select the Oracle Business Intelligence (OBIEE) System and Student Records Consumer Group.

  3. Fill in the other required fields and submit

    • Enter your Justification for requesting access.
    • Enter your supervisor’s ePantherID (without @uwm.edu)
    • Read the Acceptable Use policy and click if you agree
    • Click OK to submit your request.

If you encounter any issues with this step, please contact the UITS Enterprise Data Management team at edm-team@uwm.edu.

  4. Wait for your request to be approved

After your request is approved by your supervisor, the campus data custodians in the Registrar’s Office, and the OBIEE administrators, you’ll be notified via email. The following business day, you’ll be able to login to OBIEE at https://uwbi.wisconsin.edu.

A Note on Off-Campus OBIEE Use
Off-campus employees who are not using remote desktop to connect to a campus computer must connect to the GlobalProtect VPN client before accessing OBIEE.
For instructions on installing the GlobalProtect VPN, please consult the following KB article: https://kb.uwm.edu/uwmhd/page.php?id=83286.
