Interests & Expertise

Cindy Brown retired from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) in Spring 2021. In her time at UWM, Cindy’s major focus was undergraduate education related to the Biomedical Sciences. Her expertise included the organization, administration, periodic review, and continued development of the undergraduate Biomedical Sciences programs as required by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) standards and the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

Cindy’s interests included the supervision of the clinical laboratory learning experience, development of clinical curriculum, evaluation of program effectiveness, formulating clinical policy and procedures, maintaining working knowledge of current accreditation and certification procedures, and evaluating undergraduate program effectiveness.

In addition to her work at UWM, Cindy worked with Qatar University in the Middle East to achieve accreditation for their Biomedical Sciences Program from NAACLS. This was the first Biomedical Sciences Program to be accredited by NAACLS outside the United States.
