After graduating from UWM with a Bachelors degree in Design, Andrew Whitcomb went on to obtain a Masters from North Carolina State, with an emphasis on Design Methodologies. Currently, Andrew is living in Stockholm, Sweden, and working for an organization called Very Day. Specifically, his practice explores collaborative processes between interdisciplinary professionals and those with no prior knowledge of design.

In his free time, Andrew likes to play Ultimate Frisbee. He feels that it’s relatable to his practice: the sport is self-refereed and involves negotiation and teamwork amongst players. Additionally, Andrew’s favorite part of the design process is receiving feedback, and getting the chance to “get out and talk to people who are potential customers, as they people who are going to be using and buying whatever you make.”

His desire to interact with others, especially those outside of the design field, helps him diversify his communication skills and stay up-to-date with conversations that are happening outside of the office.
