Undergraduate.<\/dd><dd>For students with no previous knowledge of Hebrew. Elements of reading and grammar, vocabulary building, and fundamental principles of the language. Reading in simple narrative Hebrew prose. Language laboratory required.<\/dd><dd><strong>Prerequisites: <\/strong>none.<\/dd><dd><strong>Course Rules: <\/strong>Not open to native speakers of Hebrew. May not be taken for cr by students who have completed HEBREW 51 or HEBREW 52.<\/dd><dd><strong>Last Taught: <\/strong>Fall 2025, Fall 2024, Fall 2023, Fall 2022.<\/dd><\/dd><dt><strong>HEBREW\u00a0102 Second Semester Hebrew<\/strong><\/dt><dd>4 cr. Undergraduate.<\/dd><dd>Continuation of HEBREW 101. Language laboratory required.<\/dd><dd><strong>Prerequisites: <\/strong>HEBREW\u00a0101(P) or HEBREW 51(P) and HEBREW 52(P).<\/dd><dd><strong>Course Rules: <\/strong>Not open to native speakers of Hebrew. No cr for students who have cr in HEBREW 53 and HEBREW 54. Undergraduate.<\/dd><dd>Continued vocabulary expansion, further development of speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills, & advanced grammar. Course materials include literary texts, contemporary media articles, and other Hebrew sources reflecting life in modern Israel.<\/dd><dd><strong>Prerequisites: <\/strong>junior standing.<\/dd><dd><strong>Course Rules: <\/strong>Not open for cr to students with credit in HEBREW 303. Generates L&S credit for demonstrated equivalent preparation (14 retro cr).<\/dd><dd><strong>Last Taught: <\/strong>Fall 2025, Fall 2023, Fall 2022, Fall 2021.<\/dd><\/dd><dt><strong>HEBREW\u00a0302 Sixth Semester Hebrew<\/strong><\/dt><dd>3 cr. Undergraduate.<\/dd><dd>Students progress to advanced\u00a0level. Course focuses on expanding vocabulary, language skills, grammar, and literary text analysis. Course materials include literary works, contemporary media articles, and other texts related to life in modern Israel.<\/dd><dd><strong>Prerequisites: <\/strong>junior standing.<\/dd><dd><strong>Course Rules: <\/strong>Not open for cr to students with credit in HEBREW 304.
