SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: New Global Studies Requirements!

Changes were recently made to the Global Studies Degree Program.

Beginning in spring 2020, the foreign language requirement for Global Studies is a minimum of 6 semesters of foreign language study, instead of 8 semesters.

Also, students now may choose 2 of 3 options for a total of 12 experiential learning credits:

  • 3-9 credits of study abroad coursework.
  • 1-6 credits of a domestic internship that is internationally focused and relates to the student’s track.
  • 1-6 credits of an international internship.

These changes now allow for several different combinations a student may choose from to fulfill this requirement providing more options and flexibility.  Please see your academic advisor or contact Christine Wolf, cawolf@uwm.edu for more information. Thank you!
