As a part of our commitment to education, Women’s & Gender Studies has acquired a collection of flags of the LGBTQIA+ community. We recognize that this collection is not comprehensive, and we promise to continue to add as we go. We started this collection for a couple of reasons. First, and foremost, we want to make sure everyone feels acknowledged and welcome when they come to the WGS offices. Second, we want to take every opportunity to educate and inform those around us. Toward that end every week we are spotlighting a certain flag on the reception desk, along with a brief description of who the flag represents. We encourage you to stop in and take a look. If you have any questions, we are all happy to take some time for a conversation about the flags and the communities they represent.
If you find yourself in Curtin Hall, come to the fifth floor and check us out!
