Wisconsin Child Welfare Professional Development System

Healthy Families America – Wisconsin

About Us

Healthy Families America (HFA) provides substantial interaction with parents and children, creating healthy relationships and positive collaboration from prenatal to five years of age. HFA is designed for parents facing a variety of challenges, such as single parenthood; low income; childhood history of abuse and other adverse child experiences; and current or previous issues related to substance abuse, mental health issues, and/or domestic violence. The goal of Healthy Families America is to positively impact the wellbeing of mothers, children, and their families early on, and further maintain a loving, self-sufficient future.

In 2022, Healthy Families America affiliations in Wisconsin provided care to 1074 families at 16 different sites, resulting in over 14,650 visits.  55% of families are headed by single parents and 85% of families were living in low-income households.

COVID-19  Update

HFA/PCAA policies follow the CDC’s recommended guidelines for prevention, treatment and travel when there is a health outbreak or risk of outbreak. Please note: While we can give guidance on HFA model expectations during such health outbreaks, we know local agencies are also providing guidance and new expectations. Please follow agency protocol as needed.
