UWM at Waukesha had the pleasure of having writers Derrick Harriell and Kiese Laymon for our annual Distinguished Lecture on April 22nd. During this event, the writers discussed and investigated the ways in which writing has been a tool of catharsis and survival when the world around them was burning. In addition to discussing historical and contemporary traumas, they also shared work from their most recent creative works. A brief Q and A followed the conversation. Watch the entire event below!
