Content Challenges in the Public School Library and Public Library

Recent efforts across the country to control access to content (“book banning”) in libraries are on the rise, including relocations of materials within the library or parental permission mechanisms. This presentation reviews the extant case law and demonstrates that the courts support library efforts to determine the content of its collections without interference from outside “pressure” groups.
