Congratulations, Class of 2020!
You worked hard during your time with us and we couldn’t be more proud of you. The end of this semester tested us with having to move classes online due to the current pandemic, but you persevered! Show your #UWMGrad pride on social media and download these graphics to celebrate!
To all of our graduates, faculty, and staff, we wanted to honor your work and commitment with the virtual celebration below.
A message from Dean Bronner:
Congratulations graduates! You are a special group, not only because you enlivened the campuses, impressed your professors, and instilled confidence in the future, but also because you worked through an historic challenge of a global pandemic. In our lifetimes, we have not faced anything comparable, and with your education as a source of strength and wisdom, know that you are prepared to tackle uncertainty head on, and find solutions to problems as they arise for yourselves, your neighbors, and your world. Even though part of your experience during this time has been apart from one another, you found ways to work together, harness technology, and triumph with your degree in hand. There is a lesson there that you can take through your lives. A custom at commencement is to mark your achievement by moving your tassel from the right to the left side as you proceed across the stage. It marks a change to a distinguished status that you gained through hard work to be sure, and further, from your engagement of the family and community we call the College of General Studies. Remember that we are always here for you and we look forward to hearing of your future successes.
