Scholar Sip: Poverty & Housing
October 28 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Great coffee and interesting conversation are the two main components of Scholar Sip – a free community forum held one Thursday of each month. Students, faculty and students are welcome to the 3:30 P.M-4:30 P.M. informal forum, held in the library presentation room, on the second floor of the UWM at Washington County campus in West Bend.
Poverty and Housing with Russ Wanta, Executive Director, Habitat for Humanity of Washington and Dodge County
October 28, 3:30-4:40pm.
Returning from a mission trip in 1995, Russ Wanta and his pastor Sharon Steir developed the idea for what would become the Habitat for Humanity organization of Washington and Dodge Counties. Since that time the organization has built over 25 affordable houses in our area and have helped numbers of people maintain and upkeep their homes through their Brush with Kindness Program. Russ will speak about poverty and affordable housing.
