Victoria, a Sophomore Pursuing Communications, Shares Why She Chose UWM at Washington County

“At first, I wasn’t sure where I wanted to go to college. UWM at Washington County was close to home; it’s literally five minutes from my house. I figured I could just try college here first and save some money. I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical at first and was worried I wouldn’t get that classic college experience.

“Well, I fell in love with the Washington County campus. It’s a small campus, so I was really able to connect with my professors. At larger campuses, you don’t have that opportunity, because you’re sometimes in a lecture hall with 200 people. I like the more one-on-one learning I get here. It’s a better fit for my learning style, too.

“And Washington County campus gives me the college experience, but in my own way. There are so many opportunities for students, like on-campus jobs and sports. We have tons of clubs. If you’re nervous about going to a four-year university right away, definitely start here. You get the same great college experience with caring professors, and later, if you want to transfer, it’s so much easier.”
