I have moved a lot in my life, having moved from my birthplace in Puerto Rico to spending half of my childhood in the Midwest and the other half in the south. Of all the places I have lived, the Midwest has always been my favorite. I am a recent transplant to Milwaukee, having moved here from Chicago 2 years ago to be closer to my partner’s family and raise our kids in a cool and highly underrated Midwest city.

As someone who attended a Big 10 university for my undergraduate degree, UWM feels just like home to me. The surrounding neighborhoods have so much to offer with restaurants, coffee shops, bookstores and activities to keep you busy and learning new things. On-campus , every imaginable resource, student organization, research opportunity and academic experience awaits you. This is truly a hidden gem that more people should be talking about and exploring for themselves.

To me, UW-Milwaukee is a perfect example of why this city is so great. You get to experience the joys of living in an urban and culturally diversity city while you get a world-class education. I would be happy to guide you and your family as you learn what UWM is all about and how we can support you in your academic, cultural and social development as a student and future UWM alum. I am happy to connect you with our multicultural support services, faculty and staff and look forward to supporting your start as you prepare to become #PantherProud.
