UC Chair Kris O’Connor reported that he attended a debriefing of APBC’s budget presentations and process with each of the school and colleges. The dynamic of presenting both unadjusted and adjusted results did not garner positive feedback from academic units. O’Connor also reported that the Pay Plan Working Group has been meeting to develop guidelines for a potential pay plan, based on the last pay plan guidelines. One issue is that solid performer designation was not grievable by faculty in the last exercise; UC will push for this to be grievable in future pay plan evaluations.

O’Connor reported that a list of faculty under consideration for the HBSSW Dean Search and Screen Committee has been forwarded to the Provost.
The campus will begin to implement filtering software to limit access to problematic content, such as explicit sexual content. Researchers working in areas requiring access to websites impacted by the filters will still be able to do so but will need to work through the filters.

The status of capital projects on UWM and other System campuses is up in the air right now, due to the failure of the Governor’s state budget to be passed.

Regarding last week’s on-campus shooting at the Peck complex, the investigation has been turned over to the Oak Creek Police Department. Currently, little information is being provided about the incident other than what we already know, to minimize interference in the investigation. Because of this, Campus is limited in being able to address rumors on social media until the investigation is complete.

UC member John Reisel reported that the Economic Benefits Committee met and discussed the Titling and Total Compensation Study, and concerns of CGS faculty.

UC member Dev Misra reported that SSEA completed and submitted the report evaluating the Dean of the Graduate School.

UC member Mark Schwartz reported that the Library Director S&S committee met yesterday and screened candidates.

UC member Laura Otto-Salaj reported that the CGS Dean S&S Committee are reviewing applications, and will meet next week to discuss them and decide on a list of semifinalists for Zoom interviews. The position announcement closes on Thursday.
