Prep work will take place on Friday, Sept. 11, but the street and parking lots will remain open.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe work by the City of Milwaukee will support the permanent conversion of Hartford Avenue to eastbound-only traffic through UWM\u2019s campus.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nAll dates are subject to change based on weather conditions.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n<strong>Friday, Sept. 11:<\/strong> The city will be milling (surface grinding) the affected portion of Hartford Avenue, but parking lots off Hartford Avenue will still be accessible.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n<strong>Saturday, Sept. 12:<\/strong> The city will be repaving Hartford Avenue, which will be closed from Oakland to Downer avenues. The following parking lots will not be accessible on Sept. 12:\r\n\r\n \r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n \t<li>Lot 1 Library\/Garland<\/li>\r\n \r\n \t<li>Lot 7 SARUP\/Engelmann<\/li>\r\n \r\n \t<li>Lot 8 Chapman Enderis<\/li>\r\n \r\n \t<li>Lot 12 Merrill Circle<\/li>\r\n \r\n \t<li>Lot 20 Cunningham<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n \r\n<h2 id=\"h-alternative-parking-for-permit-holders\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Alternative parking for permit holders<\/h2>\r\n \r\n\r\nPermit holders for any of the above lots who need parking on Saturday can park in any other outdoor lot on main campus. Per 2.a.v. of our regulations, main campus permit holders can park at any outdoor lot between 4 p.m. and 2 a.m. on weekdays and from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m. on weekends. Lot 30 U-PARK Park &amp; Ride permit holders are not eligible.\r\n\r\n \r\n<div class=\"uwm-u-flex uwm-u-flex--wrap uwm-u-flex--left\"> <a class=\"uwm-c-button uwm-u-mr-20 uwm-u-mb-20\" href=\"https:\/\/t.e2ma.net\/click\/zmb2ql\/rw5l78\/fvgcybb\" rel=\"\">Access Map of Project Impacts<\/a> <\/div>\r\n \r\n<h2 id=\"h-hartford-avenue-traffic-will-be-one-way\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hartford Avenue traffic will be one-way<\/h2>\r\n \r\n\r\nOnce the project is complete, Hartford Avenue will carry eastbound-only traffic from just east of the NWQ Garage drive to Downer Avenue.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe section of Hartford Avenue between the NWQ Garage drive and Oakland Avenue will remain two-way.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nDrivers exiting Lot 20 Cunningham will continue to be able to turn either left or right. Once the Hartford Avenue drive aisle to NWQ Garage reopens, drivers exiting NWQ Garage onto Hartford Avenue will also be able to turn either left or right.\r\n\r\n \r\n<h2 id=\"h-project-benefits\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project benefits<\/h2>\r\n \r\n\r\nThe project is designed to enhance safety for all users of the roadway and improve connectivity within Milwaukee\u2019s protected bikeway and trail network.
