Post-Thanksgiving Transportation Updates

Due to reduced ridership and classes moving primarily online after Thanksgiving, there are a few changes to the transportation options available on campus. Be On the Safe Side will have reduced hours, the Upark lot will be closed, the Prowl Line will not run the Commuter Route, and the MCTS UBUS schedule will be reduced. Please read on for more details. If you have any questions, please contact us at uwmpark@uwm.edu or or by calling (414) 229-4000.

Be On the Safe Side, or B.O.S.S., will change its hours of operation to 6 pm – midnight each night of the week. This will take effect on Monday, November 30 and remain in effect until it closes on December 24, 2020. B.O.S.S. will reopen on Jan 3, 2021 and operate from 7 pm – midnight during the UWinteriM session. Rides can be scheduled using the TapRide app (free download available at your app store) or by calling (414) 229-6503.

The Capitol/Humboldt Upark lot will be closed beginning on Wednesday, November 25, and will not reopen until January 25, 2021. The Prowl Line will not run the Commuter Route, which made stops at the Upark lot, Cunningham Hall, and the Library. As an alternative to parking in the Upark lot, the Hunting permit is available at a reduced rate of $33/month. Find the Hunting permit and others for sale https://uwm.t2hosted.com/cmn/auth_ext.aspx. The Residence Hall Route will continue for the remainder of the semester, and makes stops at Sandburg, the Union, Kenilworth, and Cambridge Commons.

The Milwaukee County Transit System UBUS Service Routes 40U, 44U and 49U will stop running effective December 6, 2020 and resume hourly service January 25, 2021. Please see their website https://www.ridemcts.com/ for updates and more information.
