Parking Key Updates
UWM is upgrading its parking equipment at
Kenilworth, Lubar, NWQ, Pavilion, RiverView, and Kenilworth Garages. Cameras at some garages typically read permit holders’ license plates to allow access into and out of the garage. Still, they may be temporarily offline as we work on the upgrade. You must have your PantherCard to access the garages. If you are having issues with your PantherCard, please email the backside of the card so we can investigate.
Surface lots only require your vehicle’s license plate to be linked to your parking permit purchase. Please
update your vehicle information as it changes to avoid any potential citations.
Hourly/Daily Parking
Permit parking accounts for more than 50% of the parking spaces in most outdoor lots, but there are limited spaces for hourly/daily parkers. Please look for the appropriate signage that indicates the space is open to hourly/daily parkers.
We’re introducing our parking
finder link, which includes an interactive map to help you locate parking areas and parking rules by date and time.
Three
contactless payment providers offer payment through mobile apps, phones, and, in some cases, text-to-pay:
Some surface lots and all garages have pay stations. Not every pay station accepts cash and coins, so it is strongly recommended that you use contactless payment options when available.
You can visit the Transportation Services website for other
flexible parking options.

Safe Parking
Review the
UWM Police Department’s tips for protecting your car. UWM recommends everyone download the Rave Guardian mobile safety app to seamlessly connect with University Police resources through texting, confidential tips, location sharing, a call directory, and a safety/resource content portal. The app also contains helpful safety information and a call directory to keep users a tap away from campus safety resources. Call 414-229-9911 in an emergency or the UWM Police non-emergency line, 414-229-4627, which is answered 24 hours a day.
Specific model years of Hyundai and Kia vehicles without push-button ignitions have been targeted for car thefts. Both companies offer owners a free anti-theft software upgrade. With the update, the engine won’t start if the key isn’t in the ignition.
If you haven’t had your Hyundai or Kia updated with the software, now is the time. Dealerships provide the update in less than an hour.
- Hyundai owners: You can schedule your software upgrade online or call 800-633-5151. UWMPD is coordinating an event with Hyundai to provide updates on-site from September 5 to 7 at the UPARK lot.
- Kia owners: To see if your vehicle is eligible for an update, follow the steps here. Or call 800-333-4542.
- Free steering wheel lock: Hyundai and Kia owners can pick up a steering wheel club at the UWM PD office, 2025 E. Newport Ave, Suite. 1457.
