Fall 2019 Transportation Info

U-PASS

The U-PASS allows unlimited, free rides on all MCTS routes to students who are taking classes on-campus. The Fall U-PASS is now active for new and returning students. The U-PASS may be picked up at Transportation Services between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. All riders must present their PantherCard in addition to the U-PASS in order to ride the buses. The Summer U-PASS will be deactivated on August 30th. Commuter Value Pass

The Commuter Value Pass (CVP) a reduced fare, unlimited-ride bus pass for faculty and staff which provides access to all Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) buses. More information, including how to purchase, can be found at https://uwm.edu/transportation/cvp/.

Prowl Line

The Prowl Line is the housing shuttle which makes stops at the main campus, residence halls, and the Upark lot. There is not a set route schedule; it operates continuously throughout the day and comes every 10 – 15 minutes. New this year is the RiverView Express shuttle which will travel exclusively between RiverView and the Golda Meir Library. It is highly recommended that students download the Passio GO app for live Prowl Line information: iOs App / Android App. All riders must present their PantherCard in order to ride. Prowl Line Hours
Sunday: 9 AM – 1 AM; no service to Upark.
Monday – Wednesday: 6 AM – 1 AM; service to Upark ends at 9 pm.
Thursday: 6 AM – 3 AM; service to Upark ends at 9 pm.
Friday: 6 AM – 3 AM; service to Upark ends at 6 pm.
Saturday: 9 AM – 3 AM; no service to Upark.

RiverView Express Hours
Monday – Thursday: 6 AM – 8 PM
Friday: 6 AM – 6 PM

Students are able to use Be On the Safe Side for transportation between residence halls and campus after the Prowl Line is closed.

Be On the Safe Side (B.O.S.S.)

Be On the Safe Side is a non-emergency, safe ride service for students. There is no charge to ride, and ride requests can be made via the free app TapRide (Android / Apple) or by calling (414) 229-7431 (temporary number). Students must present their PantherCard in order to ride. More info can be found at https://uwm.edu/boss/.

Summer Hours: 7 PM – midnight
Closed on September 2 in observance of Labor Day
Fall Hours (begins Sept. 3): 6 PM – 2 AM

Off-Campus Shuttle

The Off-Campus Shuttle is an on-demand service for students, faculty, and staff to travel between the main campus and the following locations: University Services and Research Building (USRB), School of Freshwater Sciences, Global Water Center, and the Zilber School of Public Health. Ride requests can be made via the free app TapRide (Android / Apple) or by calling (414) 229-7431. More info can be found at https://uwm.edu/transportation/offcampusshuttle/.

Summer Hours: 7 AM – 9 PM. Service to the University Services and Research Building (USRB) only.
Fall Hours: 7 AM -9 PM. Service to the University Services and Research Building (USRB), School of Freshwater Sciences, Global Water Center, and Zilber School of Public Health.

Upark

The Upark lot is located just north of the intersection of Capitol and Humboldt. It is free for students and $35.81 per semester for faculty and staff. Anyone parking in the Upark lot will need a permit, which can be found at uwm.edu/transportation/getpermits. The Prowl Line will come to the Upark lot every 10-15 minutes to transport passengers to the main UWM campus. It is highly recommended that students download the Passio GO app for live Prowl Line information: iOs App / Android App. All riders must present their PantherCard in order to ride.
