Teams Meeting Recordings Auto-expiration

Microsoft has launched a new meeting recording auto-expiration feature that will automatically delete Teams meeting recordings stored in OneDrive and SharePoint after 60 days if the recording was created by faculty, staff, or students. For Teams meetings recordings created by emeriti, annuitants, or sponsored users, meeting recordings will auto-expire after 30 days.

The expiration date can be modified by those who have edit/delete permissions for the recording in OneDrive or SharePoint. When a recording is deleted, they will also be notified via email. The recording can then be retrieved from the recycle bin for up to 90 days. Please review our instructions for more information on how to manage Teams meeting recordings.

If you have any questions on this topic, please contact the UWM Help Desk.

Please note: this will not impact any existing meeting recordings created before the feature was deployed.
