This year we are accepting up to 50 students in the 11th Cohort of the MKE Scholars Program. Please note that we are currently limited to students who attended a City of Milwaukee high school, exclusively. Additionally, students accepted under the UWM First-Year Bridge Program\u202f<strong>are not eligible for the MKE Scholars Program.<\/strong>\u202f Please continue reading the program description form below for a better understanding of the program\u2019s benefits and expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>As a member of the MKE Scholars Program, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) are pleased to provide you with the following special benefits:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion\" data-accordion-prefix-classes=\"uwm\" data-accordion-cool-selectors=\"1\">\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Learn about the Benefits of the MKE Scholars Program<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A renewable $1000 scholarship toward UWM tuition and fees for up to four years, covering fall &amp; spring semesters ONLY&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Progress towards the completion of <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/cultures-communities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cultures and Communities Certificate<\/a>, a distinguishing accomplishment to complement your undergraduate degree&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Added support through student success coaching and peer mentorship for advanced development and access to opportunities within the UWM community<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social and educational programs to build a strong peer community&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Early access and notification to some on and off campus scholarships, internships, and service opportunities&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To receive these benefits and maintain membership in the program, you must agree to:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion\" data-accordion-prefix-classes=\"uwm\" data-accordion-cool-selectors=\"1\">\n<div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--header\">Learn about the Expectations of the MKE Scholars Program<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel\"><div class=\"uwm-p-accordion--panel-inner uwm-u-clear\">\n<p>Prospective students must be admitted to UWM as New Freshman. Currently enrolled UWM students, students admitted\u202fto the UWM First-Year Bridge Program, re-entry, and transfer students are\u202f<strong>not eligible for this program<\/strong>.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an admitted, bachelor\u2019s degree seeking undergraduate student attending UW-Milwaukee \u2013 Main Campus you must:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Complete\/submit the MKE Scholars\u202f<strong>Program Application no later than Monday, June 1st, 2026 (Available starting Sunday, December 1st, 2025)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete\/submit required enrollment \u201cTo-Do\u201d list items outlined in the Admissions Portal and PAWS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Attend a New Student Orientation (NSO) session any time before August 10<sup>th<\/sup>, 2026.\u202fPlease remember that you may not schedule your New Student Orientation session for the same week as the MKE Scholars Summer Experience<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Actively Participate in the asynchronous online MKE Scholars Experience July 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meet with an MKE Scholars Success Coach 1:1 in-person or virtually during Summer 2026&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Actively\u202fparticipate\u202fin\u202fthe\u202fweek-long, in person,\u202fMKE Scholars Program\u202fSummer\u202fExperience\u202fand attend the Fall 2026 MKE Scholars Program Kickoff\u2014August 10<sup>th<\/sup>-August 14<sup>th<\/sup> from 9:00-3:00 pm daily<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Meet bi-weekly with your assigned MKE Scholars Program Success Coach during the academic year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintain regular engagement with your Academic Advisor and Peer Mentor during the academic year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in offered MKE Scholars events throughout the summer and academic year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Successfully complete cohort courses towards the completion of the Cultures &amp; Communities certificate program throughout your academic career at UWM, starting Fall 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete &amp; Submit a FERPA form permitting UWM to share information about your enrollment and progress with your college readiness program staff and external funding program partners<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Represent the University as a student leader and serve as an ambassador for the MKE Scholars Program<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1630,"featured_media":0,"parent":16175,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"templates\/full-width.php","meta":{"footnotes":"","uwm_wg_additional_authors":[]},"class_list":["post-16453","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v27.7 (Yoast SEO v27.7) -
