On-Campus/Off-Campus Housing

Neighborhood Housing Office
Union WG85
The Neighborhood Housing Office (NHO) provides direct outreach and advising to help students find quality off-campus housing and roommates through education, referral, and support. The NHO also promote healthy living and civic responsibility intended to connect students with UWM and the surrounding neighborhoods. The website contains a list of rental properties and landlords as well as rooms for rent and student roommate requests. The NHO offers multiple programs each year to assist students in finding quality off-campus housing, including the April Housing Fair and the July Tour of Homes. The NHO also offers a Preferred Tenant Program for UWM students to earn reduced rent or security deposits through participating landlords.

University Housing

University Housing operates UWM’s residence halls, which house most first-year students as well as students from sophomore status to graduate school.  All housing is suite-style, meaning a small group of rooms shares a common bathroom.  Other amenities in University Housing include 24-hour security and service desks, living learning communities, dining services, shuttle service, computer assistance, fitness centers and events offered throughout the semester. Each resident has a Resident Assistant—an upper-class student who serves as a resource, event planner and policy enforcer.  Residential Programs Staff also live in each building.  These professional staff members supervise the Resident Assistants, oversee the community development of their building, and meet with students who have behavior concerns.  For more information about specific facilities or services, visit the University Housing website.
