“Attending campus events is fun and most are usually free. Plus, they help you to get connected to staff members, other students, and professors.” –Jenna McGlin, Senior.

“It was very important for me to attend many different campus events so that I could know more about the UWM community. After attending a few events, I finally found a place on campus that made me feel comfortable, The UWM LGBT Resource Center. This office provided me a space where I felt like I was part of the UWM community.” – Jose Rea, Sophomore.

Attend campus events

There’s something awesome happening every day at UWM, whether hosted by an academic department, resource center or student organization. Most of these events are FREE for students and offer you an opportunity to listen to great speakers, dance to amazing music, see beautiful art, get free food and, most importantly, spend time with friends while meeting new ones!

  • Use the UWM website’s Events Calendar to see what’s going on around campus:
  • Check out the website of your academic department to see if there are any events, activities or workshops being offered.

• Connect with your Resident Advisor or COAST Leader and attend events hosted by University Housing ( if you live on-campus or Neighborhood Housing ( if you live off-campus.

  • Hang out in the UWM Union, your one-stop shop for speakers, films, workshops, recreation, arts and craft, concerts, art exhibits and much more!
