Summer Bridge Program

As noted in your admission letter, your academic preparation indicates a need for skill strengthening and additional academic support in order to be successful at the university level. Therefore, you  will begin with us in the Summer Bridge Program during the Summer 2018 term, with classes beginning on June 25, 2018. The Summer Bridge Program offers smaller classes with excellent instructors and individualized academic advising, all of which will help you start working towards the college major of your choice with the right resources at hand.

Conditions of Admission
In order to be enrolled as a New Freshman at UWM in Fall 2018, you must complete the following steps:

* Review and electronically submit your AOC Bridge Contract by May 1, 2018. (This Contract will be available to you for electronic submission via PAWS (uwm.edu/paws) in February.)
* Submit either a $150 Confirmation Deposit or have completed deferral paperwork submitted by May 1, 2018.
* Attend the Summer Bridge Orientation on May 19, 2018.
* Successfully complete the 8-week Summer Bridge Program, including on-campus coursework in Math and English, beginning June 25, 2018.

Failure to complete any of these steps will result in rescinded admission to UWM for the Fall 2018 term.

Summer Bridge Coursework

During the Summer Bridge Program, you will be enrolled in 2 classes – 1 English class and 1 Math class.  The math class is developmental meaning it will prepare you for college-level math.  The English class is college-level and you will earn college credits towards your degree once you pass the class.

We will determine which classes you need to take when you attend Summer Bridge Orientation.  Because we will asses you on that day, you are not required to take the UW-System Placement tests.
