Fall – Transferring from Washington County or Waukesha

Congratulations on the achievements that have led you to this step in your journey. Milwaukee Campus Orientation marks your entrance into the UWM Milwaukee Campus community. This program will introduce you to the Milwaukee campus, as well as to other new students. We know you’ve got some previous campus experience, so we’ll show you how things work at our campus. It’s our goal to make your transition to the Panther family go as smoothly as possible.

Orientation Registration Steps: Online Course

In order to register for Orientation, please email Orientation@uwm.edu with the subject line “Orientation Reg: Transfer from Waukesha” or “Orientation Reg: Transfer from Washington County” with you name, PantherID, start semester, and any other information you would like us to know. From there, our orientation team will get you enrolled in the Transfer & Adult Student Orientation Canvas Course, which has key information for your success at UWM-Milwaukee.

We highly encourage you to visit with your Academic Advisor prior to enrolling in classes. Make an academic advising appointment by logging into Navigate before you register for your courses. Your Academic Advisor can also be found in PAWS. You will be able to register for courses any time after your enrollment appointment.

Orientation Registration: Attending In-Person

If you are interested in attending the in-person portion of Transfer & Adult Student Orientation (TASO), you do not need to register as a transfer from UWM Washington County or UWM Waukesha. You can walk in to any of the TASO programs day-of. The dates for TASO are July 15, August 1, and August 18. All registration and check-in begins at 9:00 AM and formal programs begin at 10:00 AM, offering opportunities to connect with other students and valuable resources at the Milwaukee campus. Please arrive before 10:00 to ensure a smooth check-in. Additionally, please see below for details on accommodations, guests and more below.

You can find the full schedule for TASO here.

Disability, Mobility, and Dietary Restrictions

We want to accommodate any mobility, disability, or dietary restrictions that you may have in order to provide you with the best orientation experience. If you need an accommodation, please include that in your initial email to register for the TASO course. You can also follow up to ask for accommodations before the orientation which you plan to attend.

Guest Policy

You are not required to bring a guest, but if you would like to bring family members with you, you are allowed up to 2 guests. Please note guests are not able to attend course enrollment with their student. We do not recommend bringing small children to this event.

Parking Details

Please plan to park in the Pavilion Parking Garage on campus located at 3409 N. Downer Ave. Due to constriction, the parking garage is not accessible off of Downer Ave so please enter the Garage from Edgewood Ave. To see a map, please click here: Pavilion Parking Directions. We will provide a QR code for you to receive free parking valid only in on-campus parking garages during programs. Please note that parking is not available for New Student Orientation until 8:30am. If you arrive prior to this time, you will not be given a pass and there may not be space to accommodate your vehicle.
