What is the Common Reading Experience?
The Common Reading Experience includes a text that all incoming freshmen read, programming throughout the academic year tied to the themes of the text and incorporation of the text into some classes for first-year students.
The goals of the Common Reading Experience are:
- To spark conversation about important issues of intellectual, social, and moral significance.
- To connect first-year students with faculty members from multiple disciplines around the university.
- To build community among new students through intellectually-stimulating discussion.
