Yoga and Mindfulness with Emma Koi

About the class: Stress and anxiety are a regular part of being human, but there are tools available to us within our own minds and bodies to help us find calm in stressful situations. In this all-level yoga class, we’ll learn techniques to calm the nervous system through breathwork, gentle movement, and meditation. All levels are welcome! Join us on Zoom HERE

Recommended materials: Wear comfortable clothing. A yoga mat, a blanket or towel, and a yoga strap or belt.

About the instructor: Emma Koi maintains an eclectic career as an orchestral, chamber, and collaborative flutist in Milwaukee. She teaches yoga in addition to flute and is an adjunct at Carroll University, where she teaches flute and movement. An alum of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Principal Flute of the Festival City Symphony, and Flute/Piccolo with the Wisconsin Philharmonic Orchestra, she is also a founder of Cadance Collective, a multidisciplinary collaborative ensemble in Milwaukee. She holds a Master of Music from Carnegie Mellon University, and a BA in Music, and BFA in Dance from UW-Milwaukee. She received her 200-hr Yoga Teacher Certification in 2010 from Kanyakumari Ayurveda and Yoga Center. She lives in Milwaukee with her husband and two children.
