The Chocolate Case
December 5, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The Share the Earth Environmental Film Series is pleased to present The Chocolate Case, which addresses a surprising fact – that chocolate is often made through the use of child slave labor. This film is both a powerful expose of the deeply entrenched problems of the cocoa supply chain, and a truly inspirational story about the power and passion of dedicated individuals to bring about systemic change in the world.
Share the Earth, UWM Restaurant Operations and the UWM Office of Sustainability are pleased to partner for the first time on a mini series with the host of the Emmy award-winning show Wisconsin Foodie, Kyle Cherek. From Deserts to Desserts present five films focused on food and the environment. Each monthly film from November through March will start at 6PM and will be followed by a discussion moderated by Kyle Cherek. Kyle will bring one or two guests to each post-film discussion to engage in a lively and informative conversation about the topics of the films, from food waste, to the impact of fair trade on food labor, to growing and producing food as climate changes, to genetically-modified crops, to the need to revolutionize farm labor. We hope you’ll join us for these fascinating films and conversations that will leave you with much food for thought.
