In this courtroom drama based on the 2016 trial in Saint Omer of a French-Senegalese woman accused of infanticide, the convictions of Rama, a novelist expecting a child who attends the proceedings, falter as she listens to the witnesses‘ testimonies and the mother’s own wish to understand her actions.
