The experience of my films is a little like daydreaming. It’s about taking the time to just sit down and look at things. Last June, we lost the celebrated filmmaker Peter Hutton, whose silent films, the majority of them black-and-white, coaxed new experiences of looking and of time in their gently durational observations. This program, organized and assembled by Jennifer Reeves and Mark Street, unspools tributes from over 30 artists – including the Union Cinema projectionist Timoleon Wilkins — each filmmaker contributing a silent 100 foot roll of black-and-white reversal, shot in tribute to this influential filmmaker.
