Military & Veterans Resource Center (MAVRC)

Union WG99

No campus in the UW System does more for veterans than the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The epicenter of veteran support services is the UWM Military & Veterans Resource Center (MAVRC). MAVRC (pronounced “maverick”) is the first-stop for military veterans, their families, and community supporters to have their questions answered and find the resources needed for success on campus. Services are available for all members of the UWM community–staff, faculty, alumni, and family members interested in learning more about military service.

MAVRC has strong relationships with key UWM departments including but not limited to: the Military Education Benefits Office (MEBO), the VetSuccess Program, Veterans Upward Bound, and the Student Veterans of America to ensure that military and student veterans have the holistic support necessary for academic and career transitioning success.

Services include: • Peer support • Academic support • Advocacy • Transitional support • Recognition • Networking and Employment • Information exchange • Empowerment

MAVRC proudly promotes and advocates for those who have served by providing education to campus employees and our corporate partners.

Located in Union WG99, the MAVRC Student Lounge and Study Room offers student veterans the opportunity to meet and connect with others who have served in a safe, veteran-friendly environment.
