Black Cultural Center (BCC)

The Black Cultural Center supports UWM in outreach, retention and graduation of African American students. The BCC is committed to creating an environment, which promotes student development by collaborating with campus and community agencies/organizations to support the success of African American students. The BCC promotes full participation in the University’s extracurricular life. Additionally, the BCC acknowledges the intellectual and social diversity and development of African/African American students by providing a holistic experience through the following programs and activities: Black Cultural Center Open House during Fall Welcome Week; Meet & Greet Reception for African American & African Diaspora Undergraduate & Graduate Students, Faculty, Academic and Classified Staff; Black Male Summit (held in the Fall); Diversity Career Fair; African American Graduation Reception & Program (held in the Spring); and other outreach and workshop activities (held throughout the year). The BCC is open for students to talk to the BCC staff re: campus/community resources, concerns and questions; study; relax; use the computers; and host meetings and activities. The Black Cultural Center is open to all UWM students.
