Survivor Support & Victim Advocacy Coordinator
Norris Health Center

Stephanie Collins is the confidential Survivor Support & Victim Advocacy Coordinator on campus for UWM students. Stephanie received her Master's in Social Work degree at UWM, Helen Bader School of Social Welfare, with an emphasis in trauma counseling and trauma-informed care. She is also trained specifically in sexual assault victim advocacy. Prior to becoming the advocate on campus, Stephanie worked, for several years, as an advocate in the community. She also spent time working as a hospital social worker and providing grief support in hospice care. Stephanie works with students that have experienced sexual, dating, or domestic violence. She can offer emotional, medical, legal, and academic support. Stephanie has always had a passion for working with survivors and when the opportunity arose, she was thrilled to return to UWM. She believes in the importance of having a confidential advocate on campus and feels that it is her privilege to support students as they go through this process. In her free time, Stephanie likes to stay active and spend time with her family, 2 cats, and 3 dogs!
