DESCRIPTION:Lyrical Sanctuary Featuring Mad Static  \nWednesday\, December 2 | Workshop\, Open Mic and Performance   \n6:00 PM – 9 PM | Creative Writing Workshop | Union 119  \nSet Yourself Free  \nWe all have things in our life that tie us emotionally and spiritually\, yet we often don’t know how\, when or where to let loose in our self expression. In this workshop\, we will use poetry and songwriting as a way to free ourselves from the things that hold us back from being our true selves. No matter how raw the subject matter is or how revealing the words are\, this will be a place for conversation and camaraderie.    \n   \nIf there’s anything that you need to have additional details on or anything else you need from me\, notify me as soon as you can.  \n  \n7:00 PM -9:00 PM | Open Mic & Feature Performance | Union Fireside Lounge  \nMad Static is a hip-hop artist\, poet\, and songwriter\, based out of Milwaukee. As a teenager\, he looked to music (specifically hip-hop\, metal\, and alternative rock) as a way of dealing with the pressures of high school and living up to others’ expectations\, that nearly led him to depression. Ever since he first performed poetry for his high school talent show\, Static began going non-stop at writing and doing whatever it took to get his name heard.   \nAs he made music a full-time ambition\, he began cultivating his signature sound through various styles. A sound that intentionally mixes spoken word roots\, with sounds including Boom Bap\, contemporary Trap\, as well as House and Industrial. Static’s songs flow back and forth between themes of sociopolitical anguish to determination and self-discovery\, recited in almost a stream-of-consciousness delivery.  \n  \nFollow Mad Static’s journey on Instagram @madstatic414
