Special Session Call-out

Panel discussion with Coded Bias filmmaker and director, Shalini Kantayya, on Saturday, October 23, from 4p-5p ET.

This is an image to promote the film Coded Bias. Included is a picture of a black female who is sitting in front of a computer screen. Over her face, she holds a white mask which has red dots and lines to indicate facial recognition.
Coded Bias explores the fallout of MIT Media Lab researcher Joy Buolamwini’s discovery that facial recognition does not see dark-skinned faces accurately, and her journey to push for the first-ever legislation in the U.S. to govern against bias in the algorithms that impact us all.
