Trained at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School in the Joint Program in Sociology and Management, Marcus Britton is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Urban Studies. His research focuses on quantitative analysis of large datasets in order to answer questions about topics related to race, housing, and segregation of neighborhoods, schools and healthcare facilities. His research has been published in Social Forces, the Journal of Marriage and Family, Social Science and Medicine and City & Community. His current research projects focus on the relationship between school segregation and school accountability; the extent and consequences of hospital segregation in California, Florida and Wisconsin metropolitan areas; and the consequences of residential racial segregation for racial disparities in birth outcomes.
