My research interest focuses on developing novel data science methods to collect, extract, and analyze various kinds of health-related data, such as electronic patient health records (EHRs), clinical trials results, and health service data. I am especially interested in investigating how novel data science technologies can be used to improve decision-making of clinical practice and public health research. I developed novel natural language processing and data mining methods to support clinical and public health experts to acquire knowledge in free-text data (e.g. written reports, clinical notes) and use such knowledge to assess the quality of practice and inform decision-making.
