It’s May…graduation time!
In previous years, we showcased a handful of grads in individual short videos on Facebook. However, these did not perform very well, so we decided to switch it up this year and test something else out. Instead of featuring select students, we wanted to feature as many students as we could in one video. We set up shop in Spaights Plaza and recruited anyone who was graduating to say a few words on their experience as a student at UWM. The video team worked their magic and put together a 2-minute video encapsulating everyone’s reflections. All in all, the video reached 26,600 people and had 7,700 views. It was also shared 49 times and had 216 likes.
We asked graduating UWM students to share their most memorable times and the impact UWM has made on them. With more than 3,000 students walking down the graduation aisle next Sunday, we say: Congratulations, Class of 2016. You did it!

Our love for the seasons on campus is captured best on Instagram and we definitely did that this spring through many of our pictures. The first photo, a shot of Spaights Plaza and the budding trees, had 614 likes. The second was a great shot of flowers budding outside Chapman Hall, which had 496 likes. The third photo captured beautiful trees on Maryland Avenue, which had 590 likes.
To cap off the end of the semester, we reposted a photo of a student posing on top of the Panther statue. The photo received 363 likes.
