SUMMARY:Book Drive for K-8 kids at Hartford Ave School and Lloyd Barbee School
DESCRIPTION:As a part of Inauguration Week Festivities for Chancellor Thomas Gibson\, UWM is organizing a new book drive for Hartford Ave School and Lloyd Barbee School. We hope to collect 300 books as part of this effort\, and on Tuesday\, September 22 the books will be delivered to both schools where UWM volunteers  will have the chance to read a book to kindergarten kids.\n\nPlease stop by Boswell Books at 2559 N. Downer Ave (on the corner of Downer and Webster) or Wonderland Bookshop at 4001 N. Downer Ave (Shorewood on the corner of Downer and Capitol).\n\nYou may also drop off a book to the UWM Center for Student Experience and Talent (SET) Union Office (E153) across from the Panther Store.\n\nWant to get your own child involved in this service project? Stop by the SET office in the Union and pick up a blank bookmark. Take it home and have your child write an inspirational message to another child\, and then take them to the bookshop to select the book\, and place the bookmark in your book before putting it in the book donation bin!\n\nIf you have any questions please contact Laurie Marks.\n\nThank you for supporting literacy in our community!
